Timeless: The Porsche 997 has aged gracefully over the last decade, with many Porsche enthusiasts now calling it the last of the truly analog cars. With Mezger engines. Manual transmissions. Few driver aids. These were simpler times, but simpler times also came with simple tail lights, and that’s one thing we Porsche fans don’t necessarily admire. Especially when the original lenses are now starting to haze, and its dark outside. At Morimoto, we get it, and that’s why our new 997 LED tail lights are about as future-proof as the 911 itself!
Compatible: these are a direct bolt-on fitment for all 997.1-Era Porsche 911s from 2005-2008 including the Carrera, Carrera S, Cabrio, Targa, and Turbos. They use all of the stock mounting points and should not take more than a few minutes to install after popping the rear decklid.
Plug and Play: The Porsche 997 XB tail lights from Morimoto are designed to work without any modifications, cutting, or splicing. They will plug into the factory connectors for the stock lights on all US-spec cars and function without any error codes or hyperflashing. Integrated resistors are required, but are easy to install via magnetic mounts directly behind the tail light housings.
Features: Inspired by the design of more modern LED Tail lights from across the Porsche lineup, these are the perfect solution to update the rear end of your 997.1 without compromising the lines of the car, or risk the addition of something that just doesn’t look right. The red-lens model looks especially natural on the car and could truly pass for original-equipment, while the fully smoked version offers a more aggressive and even more modern look, similar to the clear tails from the latest 992 generation
Functions: The optical light pipe that flanks the top-edge of the housings acts as a low intensity parking light. Below that, all three optics serve as the high-intensity red brake light, and amber turn signals, while the inner-most serves as a white reverse light indicator. All optics are designed in conformity with DOT regulations.
