Product Description

Upgrade: When General Motors released their new line of vehicles containing a D5S bulb from the factory, everyone had questioned why someone would try and “reinvent the wheel” by creating a new HID Bulb. These new bulbs feature a built-in ballast and output 25W; 10W lower than a standard factory HID system.

Bright: Everyone’s biggest complaint is not with the color but with the output, why GM decided to use a lower wattage bulb is beside us. With the HYLUX D5S factory upgrade, there is no changing wiring, cutting or splicing. These bulbs are a direct plug and play solution to obtaining more light output from your factory D5S HID system.

HYLUX: The largest aftermarket supplier of high end, quality automotive lighting products used the opportunity to develop and manufacture a quality upgrade solution using factory specifications with built-in ballast and igniter but putting out 35W, giving you a 40% increase in light output.

Options: Choose between 4300k, 5000k and 6000k bulb output color. What does this mean? These numbers are measured in “K” which is short for Kelvin; a color rating scale. The higher the number, the more color (blue/violet) and less light output whereas the lower the number, the less color (more white/yellow) and more light output (lumens). Upgrade today and change the look of your vehicle while increasing output!

Installation: Simply remove your factory installed 25W D5S bulb by twisting the plastic lock tab. Unplug the factory connector at the bottom of the bulb by pulling down. Install the new HYLUX D5S bulb, plug the factory pigtail in the bottom of the bulb and twist the locking ring the opposite way from removal. No cutting or splicing wires, this is a true 100% plug and play installation.

Compliance: Factory HID systems from other manufacturers run at a steady 35 watts of output so you’re simply upgrading to a standard system without the expense of the dealership and headache of having to cut and splice wires. No modification is required which results in the HYLUX D5S bulbs meeting and/or exceeding DOT, SAE and ECE legality requirements.

Color Options

  • 3000K is the lowest kelvin temperature offered, and has a golden yellow output, which is great for use in fog lights and high beams for a unique look.
  •

  • 4300K is a white/yellow output, and is used in most factory HID applications. It will not have any blue tint, just a natural white color.
  •

  • 5000K is a pure white output with no yellow or blue. It will not have any blue tint, just a natural white color.
  •

  • 6000K is one of the most popular colors, which produces an ice white color. It has a very slight hint of blue, and matches most LED bulbs.
  •

  • 8000K is the highest temperature offered, which produces an ice blue color.
  •

Aside from the colors listed above, we offer higher kelvin ratings which we do not recommend for use as headlights due to their lower output in light and decreased visibility. The higher the kelvin rating of a bulb, the more vivid color you will receive but decreases the amount of lumens. The lower the kelvin rating of the bulb, the greater amount of lumens (light output) it will produce.

    1. :

I was skeptical to try these at first given they are so new and much cheaper than the Morimoto brand but I have been extremely happy with them in my silverado, wish they would have come stock with these for such an expensive truck.
