Pretty Much Everything You Wanted to Know About T10 LED Bulbs

T10 bulbs are among the most common automotive bulbs in the industry today and are used for a wide variety of internal lighting applications, such as dome lights, glove box lights, map lights, door lights, and more.

T10 bulbs come in a fairly large variety of wattage configurations which will determine how bright the bulb is. The higher the wattage, the brighter the bulb.

There’s just one problem with most factory T10 bulbs. They’re incandescent. Though they produce good light quality, they’re prone to a host of problems, not the least of which are energy inefficiency and short lifespans.

Fortunately, we carry a wide range of T10 LED bulbs that serve as direct replacements for factory T10 bulbs. Here’s what you need to know about replacing them, and why T10 LEDs are superior.

Why T10 LED Bulbs Are Better

There’s no reason not to switch your car’s or truck’s interior T10 lights over to T10 LEDs today. Here’s why they’re better.

  • Longer lifespan: Most incandescent bulbs won’t even make it to 1,000 hours, though some can last up to 2,500. Many of our T10 LED bulbs will last 50,000 hours, perhaps even longer. Even by conservative estimates, T10 LEDs last 20 times longer.
  • Energy efficiency: Incandescent bulbs draw a lot of power. Despite their high luminous efficiencies, the amperage of our T10 LEDs is extremely low, close to .05 amps. You can leave the lights on for longer without draining the battery.
  • Excellent luminous efficiency: There is no downside to switching to LEDs in terms of brightness, and the reality of the situation is that modern LEDs are often actually much brighter than their incandescent counterparts.
  • T10 LED bulbs
  • Omnidirectional T10 LED bulbs are available: Some T10 applications require omnidirectional lighting, and modern LED technology has made it possible to produce both directional and omnidirectional T10 LED lighting.
  • Available in multiple colors and color temperature ratings: Whether you’re looking for a cool blue white, a warm, yellowish white, or a perfect, neutral white, we have you covered. We also carry T10 LED lights in a wide range of colors, so you can personalize the interior lighting of your car or truck, easily.
  • They’re affordable: While once LEDs were prohibitively expensive, modern advances in technology, manufacturing, and materials, have driven down the price of LEDs. Now, LED T10 bulbs are priced similarly (perhaps a bit more in some cases) to some incandescent T10s, but offer far superior performance.
  • One T10 LED bulb may serve as a replacement for many others: Check out our T10 194 168 Wedge Bulb. This single T10 LED can serve as a replacement for over 30 other lights in addition to T10 lights.
  • Installation is a cinch: Back in the day, replacing incandescents with LEDs was a hassle because LEDs would flicker or not burn properly. However, many of our T10 LED bulbs serve as direct replacements for T10 incandescent lights and are true plug-and-play replacements. Some of ours are polar, though, so if they don’t light up inserted one way, just flip them 180° and they should work just fine.
  • They’re tougher: LEDs, not just T10 LEDs, are SSDs, or solid-state lights, which means they don’t consist of a hollow glass bulb like incandescents do. Instead, LEDs are made with a solid epoxy cover or lens. This makes them not only shatterproof but much more durable overall than incandescent lights.
