Components – The key component of all HID ballast is the “controller” which controls all functions from the initial ignition to continually ensuring the xenon gas inside the bulb stays ignited. With the OEM-grade external 23kV igniter, which is also fully waterproof, this ballast will strike the bulb perfectly, every single time. Ground Wire – New for 2017, HYLUX included an external grounding wire on 2A88 ballasts which provides protection against ground loop build up and unnecessary noise frequency from the ballast. While not required for installation, it does not hurt to add a stronger ground line to the system if the factory wiring is not strong enough. Beware of knock off HYLUX ballasts that do not contain the blue grounding wire. All ballasts from HID Kit Pros are guaranteed to be genuine HYLUX products.
