Built – HKP™ has made wiring up your HID relay harness and resistors a breeze by taking all the work out of and creating an all in one harness. With a 50w 6-ohm resistor pre-wired into to each end of the inputs, everything needed is in one easily installed wiring harness without having to cut/splice any wires. Perfect for vehicles that have automatic headlights which require a relay harness and also resistors to prevent dash errors and flickering. Perfect for many Dodge, Jeep, Ram vehicles and more!
Install – Avoid cutting and splicing in resistors with the 100% plug-and-play resistor relay harness from HKP™. One relay resistor harness will provide power and resistance to both passenger and drivers side. These harnesses are to be used in single beam HID applications and will not work with bi-xenon or hi/lo HID set ups. See the HKP™ resistor harnesses for hi/lo (bi-xenon) HID kits.
Why – If you are experiencing intermittent problems with one side of your HID system, the cause may be that not enough stable power is being delivered to the ballast on that side. This issue occurs mostly in vehicles with older batteries, and vehicles running high power drawing electronic accessories. Upon startup, HID ballasts draw more current (amperage) than a standard bulb to ignite the xenon gas inside of the bulbs, once fired though, they draw less than a stock bulb. It is the initial starting of the HID bulb that the relay will provide proper voltage that the vehicles factory wiring cannot.
Designed – to plug directly into the wiring pigtails included with your HID bulb; making this harness universal for all single beam bulb types (i.e. H1, H3, H7, etc.). If you do not have wiring pigtails or would like to purchase more, they are available here.
