Product Description

Upgrade – This is a plug-and-play replacement EP36 turn signal flasher module from HKP™. It will eliminate fast turn signal blinking, known as hyper-flashing, that occurs when you replace your turn signal bulbs with LED bulbs. It has been designed and manufactured specifically for use with LEDs.

Plug and Play – This module is specifically for your vehicle! It will be 100% plug and play. Just remove the factory flasher, and plug this one in. Remove the old flasher relay to ensure the correct amount of pins.

Fitment – The HKP 3 pin 12V electronic flasher relay is deigned for many newer Japanese vehicles including: Chevrolet, Dodge and GMC. Check the fitment tab to ensure proper fitment for your car or truck.

Hyper-flashing

Why? – Why do you need this module? When your factory turn signal bulbs go out, your vehicle’s flasher senses that less power is being used, and it will blink the turn signals quickly to alert you. When LED turn signal bulbs are installed, it lowers the load on the circuit too, because LEDs use less power. You get the fast blinking, known as “hyper-flashing,” even though the LEDs are functioning just fine. Basically, your car thinks the bulbs went out!

Resistance – To slow down the blinking to regular speed, you can add resistors to increase the circuit’s power consumption again. However, whenever possible, replacing the flasher with a module like this is the easiest option. This is the unit that actually controls the blinking speed, and makes the “clicking” noise.

Note – LED flashers can be installed in most cars, trucks and SUV’s. We do not have flashers for all vehicles.  Failure to order the correct flasher can cause the relay to fail and blow the fuse on your car.  Check the pins on your flasher before ordering.  Some flashers operate without a clicking noise.

Since LEDs draw less power than halogen bulbs, when they are installed they may blink rapidly because the vehicle thinks the bulb is out since it is drawing less power than your stock bulb. The turn signals in your vehicle are controlled by a flasher, which is what alerts the driver of malfunction. If you experience hyper-flashing after installing your LEDs, the easiest fix would be to simply replace the stock flasher with an LED flasher module. This can be done by simply plugging the LED flasher into the place of the OEM flasher. It is important to make sure that you purchase the correct flasher for your vehicle. You should compare the pin structure on your stock flasher to the pin structure of the LED flasher before purchasing. Installing a new flasher is only applicable for some vehicles, as many manufacturers have switched from external flashers to flashers located within the BCM, or the vehicle\’s computer. If the flasher is located within the BCM, installing a resistor would be the best fix for hyper-flashing.
